Eid Al-Adha

          Eid al-Adha is a festival celebrated by Muslims around the world. It is the biggest festival in Islam apart from Aidil Al-Adha is celebrated every year on the 10th ,11th and 12th day of Zulhijjah, the twelfth and last month of the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid Al-Adha  means  "Festival of the sacrifice" which is also called "Feast of the sacrifice". It is an important 3-day religious holiday to honor the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of submission to God and his son's acceptance of the sacrifice , before God intervened to provide Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead .

       The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts . The family retains one third of the share, another thirds given to relatives, friends and neighbors and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy. In a local scene, Eid Al-Adha is alsocelebrated with joy by residents of Taman Peladang Jaya   in Kuala Perlis. 4 matured cows were slaughtered by the organizing commitee of the event Around 240 people were present in this event. According to Osman bin Mat, a resident of Taman Peladang Jaya, this event was held yearly but this year, there is a larger number of participants who joined in the sacritifice of the animals. "All the meat wil be distributed to the residents of this housing area. Residents are also welcomed to eat the cooled meat in the spirit of Eid Al-fitr, I am hoping more people will join this event next year" he
added.
